Hall would finish his rookie season with 22 goals and 20 assists for a total of 42 points. His career in Edmonton would continue to flourish as he is one of the only few players that can say has broken 2 scoring records held once by all time great Wayne Gretzky. On March 30, 2013 Hall scored the fastest hat trick in Oilers franchise history in the first 7:53 of a 4-0 win against the Vancouver Canucks; additionally in the following season on October 17, 2013 he would break another franchise record for fastest back-to-back goals. Both these records were once in Gretzky's name until the young phenom came along to snag them. Hall's career in Edmonton would come to an end on June 29, 2016 when the Oilers traded him to the New Jersey Devils. The Devils scored big as they received a player who ranked in the top three on his team in scoring for 5 of his 6 seasons and finished in the NHL's top 10 scorers twice. Hall did not disappoint his new team, during the 2017-2018 season he finished with a NHL career high of 39 goals and 54 assists for a total of 93 points. His performance during the regular season helped New Jersey qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since 2012 and was awarded the Hart Trophy as the NHL's MVP.
