This professionally framed vintage photo has been personally autographed by two of the NHL's best to ever play the game; Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux. Gretzky and Lemieux played in the league, they all wrote a story of their own. Gretzky stepped foot onto the scene and started his legacy. After 21 illustrious seasons in the NHL, Gretzky ironically ended his career in 1999. He retired and currently still is the all-time leader in goals, assists and points. He finished with 2,857 points, the only player to reach the 2,000 plus point milestone. Even if Gretzky had never scored a goal his 1,963 assists would still rank above all players in career points. Both on and off the ice Gretzky had a greater impact on the game of hockey. Acting as a role model for current players and gaining the attention of many across the world. During Gretzky's time, Lemieux entered the league and wrote a story of his own, inverting Gretzky's jersey No.99 to wear No.66 and challenged himself to play like the Great One. After over fifteen seasons in the NHL, Lemieux attained multiple awards and accomplishments. He retired in 2006 with 10 seasons of 100 points or more and has his name written on the Hart Memorial Trophy three times and Art Ross six times. All of these players' resumes speak for themselves. With similar accomplishments and impacts Gretzky and Lemieux would be inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame at their respective times, and be recognized one more time during the 2017 NHL Centennial Season as the Top 100 Greatest Players of All-Time. Add this vintage piece of hockey greatness to your home or office. This frame has been uncovered from Frameworth's vault of exclusive items.
